Meet the Artists of AHA

Maureen Serafini

  • plein air oil painting, watercolor
  • An artist I have been painting since the mid 1970’s. Starting as a weekend painter who, once in a while, ventured out for painting workshops all over the United States. Painting mainly in oils, with a smattering of watercolors, my subjects have been portraiture, landscapes and seascapes, and recently still life.
Primarily self -taught I have had the privilege to paint with many of today’s fine artists from all over the world.

Painting brings me joy, and peace. Painting transports me, and hopefully you, to a different place or time. I paint in my studio and, also, En Plein Air. I am blessed to live in such a beautiful area, and to be able to paint in and around Monterey, Carmel, and Santa Cruz California.

My paintings have changed with time as I explore new ideas and mediums. This is a lifelong endeavor and I am a lifelong learner.

I cannot imagine my life without art. Art is a true passion for me and I hope I express that in my work.

Currently, because of Covid, I am only able to do virtual shows. I have submitted 2 paintings to the California Art Club for jurying. The theme is California. These are both done En Plein Air.
